The main online path is the WV Regional Jail Offender Search. WVDCR says users should enter at least the first three letters of the last name, complete CAPTCHA, and accept the search terms. The jail search disclaimer warns that public information is updated regularly, can change quickly, and may not show true current location, release date, status, or other details at the moment it is viewed. For urgent confirmation, call Central Regional Jail. For sheriff-created arrest or incident records, use the Roane County Sheriff's Office.

WVDCR also offers Daily Incarcerations, which lets a user choose Roane from a county dropdown. That tool is useful when a last-name search does not work, when the name spelling is uncertain, or when a recent arrest may not yet be easy to locate by profile search. It is still a WVDCR jail record channel, so it does not replace court records for formal charges.

Roane County Jail Visits

Central Regional Jail visitation is non-contact. WVDCR states that all visits will be scheduled by inmates. WVDCR mail for Central Regional Jail is not sent straight to the Sutton street address. Letters must use the inmate's first and last name and OID number, the full facility name with no abbreviations, and PO Box 336, Phoenix, MD 21131. WVDCR says the sender must include a full return address with complete first and last name, no initials. Handwritten or typed letters are scanned to the offender.

Roane County Jail Money

WVDCR offender banking lists three deposit channels: phone at 888.988.4768, web through ConnectNetwork.com, and the ConnectNetwork app. ConnectNetwork lists West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation as Site ID 179. For Central Regional Jail, the captured service list shows AdvancePay and Trust services. Vendor account setup may be required before a deposit, call, or payment can be completed.

WVDCR says it has contracted with GettingOut for calling and video visits, with web and app access. ConnectNetwork also lists AdvancePay phone service for Central Regional. The clean practical rule is to confirm the person's current custody in WVDCR first, then use the vendor named by WVDCR or ConnectNetwork for the specific service. Do not send money or set up a phone account until the person is confirmed in the correct facility.
